The Story of 1-Tom-Plumber: A Cincinnati Plumbing Company

By: Samantha Green

Imagine this: you’re driving down the road on your way home from work and something catches your eye. You do a double-take. “Is that a plunger?” Yup, it’s a ten-foot long plunger to be exact. Bright, hot pink polka-dots stick out like a sore thumb against the black shiny background of the van as it travels past you. You can’t help but wonder how someone made a plunger that big and who the heck is Tom. Well, he’s the plumber whose name is his number, of course!

So Who is Tom, Anyway?

1-Tom-Plumber is a locally-owned, 24/7 immediate response Cincinnati plumbing company that began with women in mind. Kameron Hensley, 23, founder and president of 1-Tom-Plumber, understood that when something goes awry in the home, it’s usually the wife/mother who picks up the phone. She wants someone reliable, trustworthy, and fast. The pink in our logo is for the hardworking women in our lives who deserve the best of the best and that’s what we provide. Whether it’s broken pipes, sump pumps, clogged drains, water heaters, sewer lines, refrigerator leaks, dripping faucets, clogged toilets, or any other plumbing emergency, we want our customers to rest easy knowing that their home is in good hands.

Tom isn’t one of our plumbers, though. The 1-Tom-Plumber name pays homage in our name to Thomas Crapper, the first man to set up public showrooms for displaying sanitary ware. He became known as an advocate of sanitary plumbing, popularizing the notion of installation inside people’s homes. Our number, 1-866-758-6237, actually spells out 1-Tom-Plumber when you type it into your phone thus making us the plumber whose name is our number. It may be hard to understand at first, but we promise that once you get it, it’ll be hard to forget it.

Why Should You Call 1-Tom-Plumber?

What sets us apart from other plumbers in the Cincinnati area is our speed, customer-first attitude, and modernized view of plumbing. We believe no one should have to wait days to get a plumber out to them. When our plumber’s show up to your home, they look professional (no plumber-cracks), they make sure to thoroughly explain the issue to you and most importantly, they leave your home looking better than they found it. We pride ourselves on making sure a phone call never goes unanswered, no matter the time or day (you should see us run in the office). With our 90-minute response time for plumbing emergencies, we are on-call every evening, weekend, and holiday!

1-Tom-Plumber also believes in sharing our story and creating a community within Greater Cincinnati. We post frequently on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn and we also try to post a video each week about a plumbing-related topic on our Youtube channel. We hope this blog can offer you some valuable advice on how to deal with any plumbing issue as a homeowner.

The Drain Experts

1-Tom-Plumber’s drain division are the go-to drain experts in Cincinnati. With over 50 years of experience in drain clearing, we can promise there is not a drain issue we can’t solve. The hydro-jett that we use can power through clogs, blockages, and even tree roots. For smaller, less-complicated clogs, all of our plumbers are equipped with toilet augers, or drain snakes, of any length to help you get water flowing again. Sonny and Ryan Boyce, our favorite father-son duo, head-up this division.
